Stress, sun, tobacco… Our skin is not only the mirror of our emotions, it is also that of our daily actions. We offer you 7 tips to take care of it.
1. Wash your skin morning and evening
It is imperative to cleanse your face with a treatment adapted to your skin type, morning and evening. Cleansing rids the skin of impurities (sebum, pollution, toxins, etc.) and lets it breathe. Prefer foaming gels or micellar waters with physiological pH, without soap and without alcohol, in order to respect the balance of the skin. For dry and reactive skin, there are very good care specially formulated. After cleansing, use a toning lotion without perfume or alcohol, to awaken the radiance of the skin.
2. Focus on hydration
We can never repeat it enough: hydration is essential if you want to have beautiful skin! Moisturizing your skin after cleansing helps regenerate epidermal cells and restore the skin’s hydrolipidic balance. The superficial layer of the skin, called the stratum corneum, thus forms with your moisturizer, a protective film against external aggressions. Morning and evening, use a moisturizer adapted to your skin type: light for combination or oily skin and rich for dry skin. Generally speaking, you can also choose a lighter texture during the summer and a richer night care throughout the year.
3. Never skip make-up removal
Make-up removal must also be part of the daily gestures to have a beautiful skin. Without make-up removal, excess sebum accumulates, the complexion becomes greyish and the skin dries out, which leads to the formation of wrinkles and imperfections. Make-up removal must precede cleansing and hydration. Apply a gentle make-up remover product, without alcohol or perfume, on a cotton pad and massage the face in circular motions. For the eyes, use a specific make-up remover. Leave the cotton on the eye for a few seconds and then rub very gently.
4. Brewer’s yeast
Composed of group B vitamins (B1, B2 and B9) and vitamin E, brewer’s yeast is excellent for the skin, nails and hair. It is especially vitamins B2 and B9 that are involved in the health of the skin, vitamin B9 contributing to the regeneration of cells.
In tablets : 3 tablets to be taken 3 times a day
In flakes : 2 g of brewer’s yeast 3 times a day.
The results are visible after 3 months of treatment.
5. Consider scrubs and exfoliations
Exfoliating your skin once a week is necessary. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells that dull the complexion. Choose a gentle scrub with micro-grains or make your own exfoliant (4 tablespoons of fine salt for 2 tablespoons of hazelnut or sweet almond oil, vegetable oils with moisturizing properties). Massage in circular motions to reactivate blood circulation and revive the complexion’s radiance.
6. Bet on masks
There are masks for each skin type. Moisturizing, astringent or sebum regulator, the mask should be applied to clean, dry skin and left on for 10 to 15 minutes. Then wipe with a towel soaked in lukewarm water, then rinse thoroughly with cold water to tighten the pores. The frequency of the mask depends on the type of skin and its condition. Warning: astringent masks used too regularly may dry out the skin. 1 time every 15 days is enough.
7. Pay attention to eye and lip contours
The eye contour is a very fragile area because the skin is thinner and more sensitive there. Not taking care of it can quickly give the feeling of having a « dark look ». Apply specialized eye contour creams that are richer and provide sufficient hydration to the skin and protect it from dark circles and wrinkles. However, these creams are not a miracle solution: only a healthy lifestyle can give real results.
The lips are also a sensitive area. Summer or winter, with the sun or cold temperatures, they are likely to dry out. It is therefore essential to use a nourishing lip balm daily.
